Manuel Valdes is the Co-Director and Principal Teacher of Candela Latin Dance, and brings excitement and passion to his Classes and Events. He is also an experienced DJ and Latin percussionist, having performed at the top Latin Dance events around Australia, including Melbourne International Latin Festival, Cubamemucho Australia, One Night In Cuba, Noche Candela, Fremantle Festival, Red and Black Brazilian Carnivale, and Johnston Street Hispanic Fiesta to name a few. His unique all-rounded capabilities make one of Melbourne’s consummate Salsa artists. Manuel has studied with some of the most esteemed dancers, artists and choreographers in Cuba (Raices Profundas, Yoruba Andabo), Brazil, Argentina and Australia.
Florencia Rodriguez is the Co-Director of Candela Latin Dance and also teaches and choreographs student groups and the Candela Latin Dance Pro-Team. She has studied Cuban Salsa and other Cuban dances with professional dancers/choreographers in Australia, Cuba and Argentina. Florencia has over 20 years experience in the performing arts including acting, musical theatre and film. Alongside Cuban music and dance, she has a passion for various World music styles including Brazilian, Bollywood, African and Bellydance.
